Avenida Central, Panamá City

Store fronts along the AVENIDA CENTRAL which runs from the old colonial part of Panamá City (Casco Antiguo) towards the newer quarters. Obviously, these points of sale had seen better days, but it is vitally the place to go shopping for the daily needs by the not so wealthy ones. Up to the late 90s, Casco Viejo was a run down quarter, good for very cheap living. The former noble houses had been neglected and partly tumbled to ruins - with only the facades left standing. After becoming a World Heritage it is in the state of restoration and became a picturesque attraction for tourist.
